Training in the heat demands different gear. Heavy hoodies and long joggers won't cut it when temperatures rise. Here's how to dress for summer training without sacrificing style or performance.
Top: Lightweight performance tank or muscle tee. Moisture-wicking fabric that doesn't cling when wet. Mesh panels for maximum airflow.
Bottom: 7-inch training shorts with inner liner. Quick-dry fabric that handles sweat and outdoor humidity.
Head: Breathable gym cap with moisture-wicking sweatband. Keeps sun out of your eyes and sweat off your face.
Outdoor: Light colours reflect heat. SPF-rated fabric if training in direct sun. Cap is essential. Consider a lightweight long-sleeve for UV protection during long sessions.
Indoor: Dark colours still work since AC handles the heat. Go minimal - tank and shorts is all you need. Save the performance fabrics for the hardest sessions.
Swap your training gear for swim shorts and a clean tee. Or keep your training shorts on - premium gym shorts double as casual wear in summer. Add slides, sunglasses and a cap for the complete look.
Summer training means more sweat. More sweat means more water. Bring a large insulated bottle and drink before you feel thirsty. Your performance gear can be perfect - but dehydration will ruin any session regardless.
